This is a single chapter about "Decision Science" strategy games from the "Construct Starter Kit Collection" workshop.
  • I'm using AJAX to create a game updater/launcher, i'm trying to detect the number on this page

    raddevvan_comuv_com/game_updates/nsad2/status.php (replace the "_" with ".")

I'm doing this so I can check the version number to allow the player to get the latest version without constantly checking a website so they can get the latest version

Can someone explain how to achieve this?

  • You should be able to load the php file as a string with an AJAX request, then parse out your version number with either regex or tokenat.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

I'm pretty new to this software so I don't really understand what any of this means

Edit 2: Wait... Parse... I'm sorry, i'm still so very confused... can you please guide me through how to parse, because I have no idea what that means
