How do I change the .exe icon of my desktop application? It always shows the "compass" icon and I'd like to use a icon of my own. Is it possible to change the html5 icon that show on title bar?
You need to use a resource editor. See here: http://www.techtalkz.com/tips-n-tricks/3866-how-change-default-icon-exe-using-resource-editor-resource-hacker.html
Thanks for the info! Works like a charm for the .exe. I just couldn't change the titlebar icon... :(
Anyway, thanks for your help!
That has to be specified in the json when compiling. More info here: https://github.com/rogerwang/node-webkit/wiki/Manifest-format
Ashley - not sure of a good pipeline to get that working from the editor?
jaojao - in the meantime if you're desperate you can do it this way: http://www.scirra.com/tutorials/417/exporting-to-exe-using-node-webkit/page-1
I'd love to see it implemented on the next C2 build...
Thanks a lot, thehen!
Any new news on how about to easily change the C2 icon on the actual game window? Top Left corner?
Any news on easily change the game icon via construct 2 ?
When you export to Node-Webkit, Node-Webkit take the logo.png in the win32 directory, because the line into the json file "icon": "logo.png"
To change the game icon
Simply put a png image 32*32px with name "logo.png"
into the "\Construct 2\exporters\html5\node-webkit\win32\" directory
i hope it can help you :)
Doesn't work for me on C2 r139. But I have two useful methods for making custom node-webkit icon:
1.based on thehen's post: use a resource editor, I recommend Resource Hacker or ResEdit
2.if you on Windows 7, make a shortcut for the app and set the icon in properties. the taskbar will show the custom icon
Am I correct to think that this is still not implemented within the actual editor?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
Yes you are, Ashley does not seem to care about that at the time...
Ashley any updates on this? Will C2 ever bring support for changing .exe icon? Or will we forever have to do it with 3rd-party programs?
Any news?? This seems pretty essential
You need 3rd-party program to "resource hacker" windows program
