Any chance of someone posting a tilemap tutorial please? I've read through the blog posts and everything else I can find but I still can't figure out how to use it. Thanks for the consideration.
+1 i can't even import a tmx file from Tiled... I have a message that say can't import the file, but I think I'm doing something wrong...
Just insert the tilemap plugin and open the tilemap bar and select the pencil tool. Then you can directly edit tiles inside the area of the tilemap plugin.
Alternatively just drag-and-drop a .tmx in to the layout.
alemar - what is the error message?

My problem was that the tilemap bar wasn't showing up even though it was clicked, so I thought I was doing something wrong or couldn't figure it out. I reinstalled construct and this time the tilemap bar is there. Sorry for the confusion (though a more advanced tutorial would still be nice once some more features are added).
Well I got import a file I created in Tiled when I drag. The file has just one tileset and 1 layer. But I imported a tmx file to TILED from a program iTileMaps, from iPad.Well it was imported to Tiled nice ( in native tmx) and saved again in Tiled. So I tried drag in C2 but I had this message:
"Error parsing XML file.Check the file is a valid Tiled TMX file."
The file have 2 tilesets and 2 layers.
Can you share the TMX file that did not import? Perhaps there is something in the file format I forgot to support.
I get the same error message when importing a Tiled TMX file. Here is the file: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16237515/battlefield.tmx
The cause seems to be the multiple tilesets. If I only leave 1 tileset in, it imports the file flawlessly.
I'm getting this error too Ashley .. r227
Please file a bug report following all the guidelines or the problem will not be investigated. Note this thread was originally from 2013, it could well be a completely different issue.
I'm getting the same error too. 5 layers, 2 tilesets, 250x50 32x32 tiled map size.
I figured out what's causing the error. It's having two tilesets in tiled at the same time. Once I deleted either my Foreground or Background tile set and just imported with one tileset it worked just fine. Left both in and it breaks.
