  • Hi all,

I'm considering Construct 2 to build some basic games for Android devices.

I downloaded the free trail version of Construct 2 and tested my first game on Samsung Galaxy SII. Although the design was very simple, it was slow. Then, I was advised to export it to native app using PhoneGap. However, I should buy the Construct licence before being able to do that. I don't want to pay for it and later discover the game is not practically efficient enough.

From this little experience I have the following simple questions:

    1) How can I test my application during development on a true device without lagging?

    2) Can anyone please confirm if games developed on Construct can be efficient enough on Andriod devices? By the way, I've read and followed the performance tips in the manual.

Here's the example that I have been testing:

    Thanks in advance.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • A good way to test on Android is try running your game from the web in Chrome for Android beta. That will give you a good idea of the approximate performance of the game, since it's a hardware-accelerated renderer like CocoonJS has.

  • I installed Chrome on my device and tested the application, but still it's performance was unacceptable.

    Thanks for your reply.
