  • Long story short: I lost the source for my latest updates after hours of testing and tweakings.

Seriously, why is it so vital for C2 to spam the save buttons? Aren't tweakings with numbers and commands brain-messing enough? Why add another engine-unique problem for the developer? For every single engine or IDE I have used, saving is even require before a run, and is it really vital and absolutely necessary to create a Construct2-specific habit?

And why on earth isn't a cached of unsaved stuff somewhere in case I want dig back something I did previously?

Also, this isn't the only time this happens. It screwed me enough for me to post this.

And before anyone talks about backup, that feature doesn't work until you hit the save button.

PS: And please fix the forum. I receive the session expired message and have to write things ten times everytime I want to post something in the forum.

  • +1 on both autosave and the forum.

  • wow, I thought construct had autosave already. This is such a basic feature, and so ridiculously easy to implement, makes me wonder why it isn't in already.

    is this not autosave??

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • DrGreenThumbCAN That only happens when you save the game. If you haven't manually saved, then this is not doing anything for you.

Especially with this ALT key related crash that can't be traced but it's almost certain to happen if you hit ALT on a normal project, not a test, an actual project that you invest time and do stuff all around the program... <img src="smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • +1 and fix forum +1000 (so annoying)

how doesn't this help if C2 were to crash? (which I haven't had happen)

if you have it on autobackup then the most lost work could be 15 minutes.

Maybe have the minimum interval lowered to 1 min or 5 min, even a text field to write in own value.

  • because it doesn't even though that's what its supposed to do

The Auto-backup feature is used to, after saving, change your previous save file into a backup file, in case your latest save file gets corrupted.

Backup folders is used to, after saving, create a copy of that save in a predefined location like your external disk or cloud server like dropbox.
