"Revenue" and Construct 2

So I was reading over the features page and had a little question as to the legal definition or at least C2 definition of "revenue."

In this case, is it any money generated by usage of C2?

Or is it after taxes, cost of bandwidth, website maintenance, & etc. that comes with, for example, hosting games?

I know that generating $5000 probably means pocketing probably most of that, but say I'm hosting my games and have finally made a bit over 5k. If by some chance maintenance costs eat a big chunk of that and I'm not making much in the long run, do I still need to buy a business license?

Not trying to be stingy, I'm just genuinely curious. :)

It's revenue before expenses. So any money generated by usage of C2.

As with any contract, never take your cut off the net. There are always expenses that can be added so that there is never any profit. The money always goes somewhere.

You could add in your computer equipment cost, office cost, wages, Bonuses, and it would never reach 5000 net.
