  • Are you gonna add RTS and Line Of Sight behaviors to Scirra 2? Like it used to be in classic version.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • +1 for this - I'd asked a while back

Something like an infinite length trace at a specified angle to give an output for each object it intersects.

  • I was going to make a plugin for this, but I worry that Ashley will just make something better & native, since it's such a basic feature.

  • Ashley, where are you? )))

  • Just give him a time, it seems he is preparing to release r100

  • Hold your horses, even brits sleep at night. ;)

  • The RTS was one of the most complex and time-consuming behaviors to code for Classic. I'm not sure when we'll get round to it, but hopefully eventually.

The Line of Sight behavior is a little easier, but you can work around it in the mean time using an invisible sprite which you stretch in to a thin line, then test collisions with that sprite. That's pretty much all the behavior does.

  • As for the RTS behavior, you already have some third part plugin proposing pathfinding onto which you you can add some MoveTo behavior, emulating perfectly the RTS behavior in the end.

Check rez repo and the MoveTo behavior.

    Thank you

  • Ashley, I'd prefer if you broke it up into a series of basic plugins instead of a super duper do-everything-rts-related plug

Expanding on what kyatric said, a LOS plugin, a raycaster, a pathfinder and so on help a lot more

  • What Fimbul said

I just posed on a related topic somewhat , if it's a native function it means it's viable for the arcade, if it's not native and 3rd party, it's rejected - like the SpriteFont pluging ( which rocks ) <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
