Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • I’m not sure whether to post this in Construct 2 or 3 section but anyway..

I am new to Construct and was wanting to find out if something was possible before buying so I hope it is okay to ask here.

I have an idea for a game, I’ll try to describe the best I can.

You tap the screen to move the character (Like jetpack joyride, only in the fact that you tap the screen) but it isn’t endless it an impossible style game. The two things I’m not sure about are having a percent of level complete so that if the player gets through 70% of the level they will be told that.

The second thing is, I want the “character” to do something every 3rd time the player taps the screen, think rotate or change colour…would these be possible in Construct? And if yes are they super complicated? I hope I’m making sense.

  • All are possible, all aren't complicated.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • yep that's possible m8 for the tap events you need a variable called tap and then add the object touch and have and event that every time the player taps add 1 to the variable touch and then when it = 3 player play animation and set the variable touch to 0

  • Thanks both of you. Also, thanks LaurenceBedford for the explanation. I'm looking forward to getting construct (the paid version). I'm keen to get started.

Why not use the free version and try the built-in examples, as well as trying to prototype a few of your ideas.

I'm currently considering that, mainly because Construct 3 will be out soon (I hope) and I mainly use a Mac which I read will work with Construct 3. I've just got to hope that what ever I figure out in 2 will work in 3.
