License includes updates?

  • Hi there community,

just got a first, short question - didn't find the answer via site search, so if it's already answered... pardon

If I buy a standard or business license, do these licenses include free updates for Construct 2 forever? I assume yes, but since it's not clearly stated anywhere... you know... just wanna make sure

    Thanks in advance,

  • It ain't free if you bought the license. ;)

Just kidding. License has nothing to do with Construct updates; the program itself is always available, the license only allows you to use its full potential.

So, in short: you don't need license for updates. They already are available to you - forever and ever.

  • Your license is for Construct 2 including all updates. However it won't cover Construct 3, and we may in future release additional exporters as a separate purchase, but we're not even considering either of those two options yet since we still have loads to do to finish Construct 2. So all updates to the editor + runtime are definitely free for the forseeable future!

  • Just out of curiosity what is construct 3 going to be?

  • mammoth, no idea, like I said we haven't even considered it yet.

  • ust out of curiosity what is construct 3 going to be?

    A long way away.

  • Construct 3 will be called Construct3D. It will be based on CryEngine and Havok.

And yes, I used my time machine for that information.

  • Try Construct 3
