  • Hi there,

first, i'd like to apologize if some sentences are gramaticaly wrong since im not a native english speaker.

I'm new to Construct and I took the time to test some things.

I haven't found any content concerning ingame customizable controls, I mean, redefining the keys you use to controls your player in the game.

So I just made a template/example/whateverworksforyou of how i would do it.

Should I submit this as a tutorial ?

    Project Example link :

    mega.co.nz

If i could get some feedback on this, it would be awesome.

    Thanks

  • In the keyboard object, there are some actions like "Key Code Pressed", "Key Code Down", etc. You can use those to redefine keyboard controls in-game.

The keycodes are in Javascript, I believe. You can also use this convenient site to find what the key codes are.

EDIT: Oops... I didn't read through the whole post. My mistake! :P

Personally, I think the example is complicated to read. It's best to keep examples as simple as possible, for instance, a square that appears when you press a key or something like that.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I see what you want to say :)

The project is hard to read because of the "player input" instance, i should just keep the part about redefining the keys.

I'll try working on it when i got some time and uploading a new version
