I don't really know how important it is but I saw some HTML5 changes like support for Opus audio codec and improvements in WebGL performance and thought someone might like to discuss or add more light to it.
WebGL enhancements, including compressed textures for better performance
Native support for the Opus audio codec added
The <audio> and <video> elements now support the played attribute
The <source> element now supports the media attribute
I'm not a very technically inclined guy, but WebGL and HTML5 improvements could never be a bad thing ;)
MUCH better. I'm actually getting better framerates in FF than chrome!
Edit: better framerates in one game, slightly worse framerates in another. Either way, vastly improved!
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
We don't currently take advantage of compressed textures or the Opus codec. The main thing new in FF15 is the high resolution timer, which is nice to improve timing accuracy. Apart from that as far as I can see Chrome is still a fair bit smoother than Firefox... seems FF's vsyncing is still not very good.
It's good that its improved even if not pass Chrome.
Firefox is still my favourite browser :/
WebGL shaders seem to screw up in Firefox 15.
Rory - can you provide more specific information?
It was telling me to use Firefox or Chrome earlier.
Its working fine now..
