  • I saw that in the next r78 a "family instance variable" will be added

I think it will be great if you will add also: Behaviors for a "Family".

Another thing- i think that on the option -to add a new OBJECT- in the family mode it shouldn't be random, but the "object.family" that related to the Condition-event.

in the picture you can see that it could help to have the behavior option in Family. and, to create new object, not in a random mode.

    thanks Amit

  • Family behaviors are already on the todo list, and Ashley has said they will probably be done in about a couple of weeks after family variables.

You don't have to create an object in a family by using the family object in the object selector - you can simply select the actual object you want and it will still be part of that family. That way you can select whatever specific object you want to create.

  • The thing is that I don't want to create an actual object - but using it as a family - beacause I have 30 objects that the user of my app maybe will want to create - that's why I think it should be an option that when I want to create an object with a family' it won't be random, but the object that was handle in the Event... like in my example above..

  • So you have something like, objects A, B and C, all in family "things". You want so the user click on any of the "things" objects, it create that object, so if he clicks object A, it'll create A and so on.

I'm not sure how is the best way to approach this, in CC I would use the "create object by name" action, but C2 don't have this yet...

  • thats right - and i think that it should be!!

    it'll help me a lot...

  • Sorry to bump old thread, but I gotta add my +1 to family behaviors <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> just in case someone counts votes <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I am waiting for this so much. I need it.

Ashley can give a time to when this is will be part of construct?

  • I know, it's on our todo list with a lot of other stuff, we haven't forgotten about it. We can't give ETAs on features though, we have so much to do. I can't tell you how many huge things are on our todo list and we're a tiny team trying to do our best to work through them all. We're doing our best, please be patient!

  • Just my 2 cents: I think you are all doing an amazing job! I know I'm new here, but after looking at all the alternatives out there, I'm sticking with you because of the way you're interacting with all of us.

    Keep up the great work!
