Change color AND display collision polygon

    Being a newbie i rely quite a bit on overlapping to trigger events.

    I was thinking of using empty sprites to do this, because i have heard that they (or invisible sprites in general) don't slow down the framerate.

    So wouldn't it be convenient to have a button to change the color of a empty sprite? Perhaps 10 colors yes?

    Also

    A button to display the the collision polygon inside the layout

    (not only in the image editor)

    Not change outside, but the form of the Polygon should be shown in the layout if wanted

  • Yeah, showing the hitbox of the polygon in a debug mode would be very helpful ;]

  • Oh, I see. Yes, I suppose this would be convenient in some circumstances. Scirra could add this to the todo list, perhaps it will get done within a year ;)

  • This looks like a subfeature of the "debugger". It was an option in the poll a while ago.

  • I never used that debugger thingy, not yet anyway. I mostly mean that while you can activate to show the size of a sprite with Initial Frame We should also have a Show Collision Polygon on the properties bar.

  • Well yeah, you never used the debugger because it doesn't exist.

    The creation of one, which would include many things such as variable inspection during the runtime, could also offer the possibility to display collision polygons (or even other nice stuff such as displaying movement vectors, revealing invisible objects and editing objects' variables).

    But I also agree that an option to display collision polygons in the editor be nice.

  • Yeah a proper debugger with features like this is certainly needed.
