  • "Hello,

We have received some reports of potentially malicious content in your game.

Specifically, your game creates a file name “nw.exe” in a different folder from the game content and touches many files in the Windows\System32 folder.

Because of the potential severity of delivering malicious content, we have removed the game from sale while we resolve this issue.

Could you please explain to us what nw.exe does and why it installs to a different location from your game?

    Thank you,"

However I have no idea how it got there and what it does.

Please help me figuring this out. Has this happened to anyone here? Is it part of the build?

I'm sure an official explanation will sort things out with Steam. If you need any further information let me know!

  • Could you please provide us a bit more information, maybe something like this:

    • What version of nw.js are you currently using?
    • Do you use any custom "hacks" like running commands over cmd?
    • Did you change the nw.js file in any way outside of C2?
    • Perhaps add a link to the games steam page?

If this is indeed the truth and nw.js games get flagged by Steam's security systems, then I think that this issue should be investigated ASAP!

nw.js is the wrapper you are using to export you game with ( http://nwjs.io/ )

and nw.exe is the executable file that runnes your game.

I don't know about the system32 stuff ?!? But it will create a folder in AppData\Local\%username%\%ProjectName% to store savedata

You'll find some more info here:

And the latest NW.js version here:

Please let us know if you get still rejected by steam or not.

  • Closing, this is not a bug report, perhaps you meant to make a post somewhere else.
