Events -> Search textbox and Clear Search issues

Forget about default textbox restrictions, you can create sprites atop of the textbox
  • Problem Description

On any CAPX with 2 or more event sheets, goto an event sheet and enter any word in the Search textbox and hit enter. That event sheet will now be filtered for that word. If you go to another event sheet, the Search textbox will still have your search word in it. If you click "Clear Search", the Search textbox will be cleared. Now, go back to your original event sheet that you searched on, and the event sheet code will still be filtered, but the Search textbox is now empty. So, now it gets strange, because you have click the "Clear Search" button again to see your code.

    Expected Result

This should be simple to fix, I hope. I see two options - either the Search textbox needs to be universal to the whole project and filter and clear across all event sheets or it needs to specific to each event sheet and keep the search textbox populated with the search word per event sheet.

    Operating System and Service Pack

    Windows 7 SP1 64-bit

    Construct 2 Version ID

    193 beta

  • Can you provide a .capx to make sure we see the same thing you do?

  • Ashley - Sure, here is a Test CAPX.

It has 2 event sheets. They both have the same three comments. If you Search/Filter on Event Sheet 1, then click over to Event Sheet 2 and click on Clear Search. Finally, go back to Event Sheet 1 and the filter is still in place but the search box is empty.

  • Thanks, should be fixed in the next build.
