The official Scirra Multiplayer Signalling Server for helping peers find and connect to each other
  • Problem Description

Multiplayer works fine only if both host and peer have the same type of connection, but if the host is a desktop browser with a "desktop connection" (wifi router, cable) and the peer is a mobile browser with "mobile connection" (3G, 4G) the multiplayer does not work.

    Attach a Capx

Export and upload to any hosting built-in templates made by Scirra or try this and this (both links has demo-versions and capx-files)

    Description of Capx

    Any of them.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Upload any multiplayer game to any hosting
    • Run the host on desktop and the peer on mobile, or host on mobile and peer on desktop.
    • Watch the bug

    Observed Result

Nothing happens, the peer and host does not see each other.

    Expected Result

    Multiplayer should work

    Affected Browsers

    • Chrome: (YES)
    • FireFox: (YES)
    • Internet Explorer: (YES)

    Operating System and Service Pack

    It does not matter.

    Construct 2 Version ID

    r244

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Closing as not a bug. The way the Internet is currently architected means not all combinations of connections will work. It's not to do with Construct or its Multiplayer feature. I have previously successfully connected wifi <-> 4G devices, but whether or not it works depends on the specific network configuration along the route between the devices.
