  • I'd like to upload my project file in order to ask for help fixing a problem, but my project file is about 50 mb since it includes a wav file. I've tried deleting the wav file, but the project filesize remains the same even after I've done this.

  • Have you deleted the file from the Projects tab?

  • Yep, I have.

  • Save it as a folder project. Then you can browse the folder and see which individual files are taking up the most space.

  • Ah, when I do that the resulting folder takes up just 800kb. But is there no way to reduce the size of the capx file?

  • Maybe you hadn't saved over the .capx file. If you save the project file as .capx again, doesn't it go down in size?

  • No, I've even stripped the project off all resources and events now, leaving one empty layout remaining; the capx is still 46.6mb. Uploaded below so you can take a look.

    dl.dropbox.com/u/91794570/reboundno2.capx

  • Save it as a project folder then as a capx (single file) and the file size reduces.

  • R0J0hound's technique does the job.

Or at worse, you could have zipped the folder, but saving as a folder project, opening this project (Rebound.caproj) and saving it again as a capx/single file allows to obtain a 3Ko capx file.

  • Hi,

I have the same issue, with 176MB capx. Followed the save as project (folder)... than when I try to open the caproj I've got this error message:

    ---------------------------

    Construct 2 Check failure

    ---------------------------

Check failure! This is probably a bug:

Cannot find project file for animation frame

    File: H:\Google Drive\Projects\Tales4Fun\Game\BookInteracrive\BookSimple104R100\Animations\AlpineCroco1\Default\000.png

This can indicate project corruption - you may be able to retry/ignore these messages and replace missing images in the project. However, please report this issue to Scirra with the steps you were doing immediately before this problem occurred.

    Condition: false

    File: Projects\AnimationFrame.cpp

    Line: 205

    Function: void __cdecl AnimationFrame::Load(const class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > &)

    Build: release 100 (64-bit) checked

    Component: Construct 2 IDE

    (Last Win32 error: 2)

You are using a 'checked' release of Construct 2, intended for testing, which causes certain errors to be reported this way. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this messagebox - it's useful information for the developers, so please include it with any bug reports! Click 'Abort' to quit (unsaved data will be lost!),'Retry' to turn off messages for this session and continue, or 'Ignore' to continue normally.

I've checked the Animations folder, it have the dir structure, but not any image is inside in, the size is zero. I use R100.
