I know, it's already a tricky game! My girlfriend gets up over LVL10, few hundred Gold before dying - she's better than me at it now. Hunt chests for powerups, you'll survive longer!
Besides the dead scene you have to add some "Menu" button or "Restart" option...
I haven't put in anything after death yet, as I said - but am working on it, I promise you. Just updated with auto-restart on 'death' and auto-push score to leaderboard. Enjoy!
