Notes

In this release you'll quickly notice a major update: there is now a completely redesigned Start Page! This makes it quicker and easier to see and access your recent projects. There's also lots of links to help new users get started and encourage activity in the community, as well as the usual options to create a new project or open an existing one.

The Start Page now only shows a selection of three example projects. This is because the other big update is the example projects have been moved to their own dedicated Example Browser! Construct now comes with over 260 examples - many of them thanks to our partners at Viridino Studios - and the previous categories and list on the old Start Page was becoming unweildly. The new Example Browser has a better designed list showing much more content, and also now provides much more sophisticated filtering options to help you find what you want. This even includes filtering by the plugins, behaviors and effects that the projects use! For example you can list all beginner-level platformers, or game templates using the Tween behavior. We hope this helps you explore all the great content that you can find right inside Construct. The new Start Page and Example Browser were designed by Paulo Ricardo Reinehr who we think has done a fantastic job on both.

Other than that this release adds four new examples which you can find nicely organised in the new Example Browser (also in the 'New' category). There are also a few usability improvements, and as ever some bug fixes. Happy testing!

  • Very nice, thanks for the update! QOL and UI improvements are appreciated :)

  • The new start page / example browser looks great!

  • Beautiful and organized Start Page... congratulations!

  • This is a great update, but can you please increase the contrast of the buttons? In the old version, the color of the buttons was #999 and #b3b3b3. Please return these colors and everything will be cool

    • I agree. The text is small, gray, and hard to see and scan quickly. It doesn't have that usual Construct simplicity and clarity, but other than that, pretty cool update. :)

  • Thank you :) great fix with the hierarchy

  • well, im dissapointed

  • This is going to take some getting use to. I've been staring at the Start Page for about an hour, but I feel like I ran into a brick wall. Maybe because it looks so blocky and tightly spaced, but I'm no longer inspired to work on anything now. I'll try again later and see if I can't get past it. I know that it's silly to let a start page stop me from doing anything.

I like the thought behind the redesign though. Make everything accessible and only one click away. It's a good idea.

  • My favorite is the Animated title screen example you guys rock!
