  • As far as I'm aware, any MacOS app at all can be notarized. It's like adding a digital signature - it doesn't matter what's in the app or what it's made of, it's just adding a (cryptographic) "verified" stamp.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • See the tutorial Exporting desktop apps with NW.js which briefly covers notarization. In short, you'll need to refer to Apple's documentation.

  • Use the Touch object's device orientation and motion features.

  • It seems to work fine here.

Whether or not users can connect to the signalling server is not to do with Construct anyway: it's to do with how connections over the Internet work. It's possible there are firewalls, filtering or other kinds of network configurations that are intentionally or unintentionally blocking the connection. I don't believe there's anything that can be done about it.

  • Construct games have always completely suspended themselves when minimized. When they suspend it stops using requestAnimationFrame at all, so I don't think there is any relevance to that.

  • If this is pretty much only "self" as an object type, then it sounds an awful lot like what the existing "Replace object" option does. If you want to swap SpriteA for SpriteB, "Replace object" lets you do that for a chunk of events in a few clicks.

As piranha305 touched on there are tons of edge cases with this and it will probably be complicated and difficult to implement. Given we have hundreds of feature requests and limited development resources, I think it's hard to avoid the conclusion that if this is only like "Replace object" but with lots of extra of difficult and awkward situations that will be time-consuming to sort out, then it would be better to just use "Replace object", or find some other way to tweak "Replace object" to work conveniently with a new workflow.

  • OK, so in a sentence, it's "self" for an object parameter?

This seems to make more sense - it doesn't affect the way it runs events at all, it's just a placeholder to refer to the current object type.

  • Further the idea would be that you can´t specify an object inside the event sheet, and the events always automatically reference the instance.

This is the bit I don't get. What does "automatically reference the instance" really mean? As I described earlier, the way events normally run appears to already do this.

  • The warning refers to "automated publishing to Google Play", and AFAIK Construct doesn't support automated publishing - you still have to publish manually. So it doesn't sound like anything to do with Construct. Maybe Nepeo knows more.

  • "Default" means "use the property of the parent item". For example "default" on a property keyframe means to use the value on the property track.

  • There's a weird forum bug going on here which stopped my reply appearing until I added several other replies... and deleting them makes it disappear again :P So apologies for the spam and please ignore the intervening posts...
