  • rexrainbow - not quite, applySolToContainer() supports all the objects in the SOL whereas system's 'Create object' is setting each SOL to contain a single instance there. I forgot I changed that in a recent build to fix a bug: 'Spawn' and 'Create' specifically have to work around the fact the created instance isn't really created until the next top-level event, so they manually do similar work to what applySolToContainer does. Everywhere else applySolToContainer should be fine though.

  • I read Ejecta doesn't support patterns yet, which is a blocker (Tiled Background won't work without it). It also doesn't support C2's memory management for large projects. However if it supported WebGL it'd use a different renderer anyway which supports both.

If it already supports AJAX and Game Center, and it gets a working WebGL, then it's a pretty interesting option. TBH I'm getting a little frustrated by slow progress from appMobi and Ludei on all three of those, so adding optional support for Ejecta would be nice.

It looks like it also has WebStorage and decent Audio support, but it's still missing something that could be used to make letterbox mode, it strangely seems to be missing the deviceorientation event, and it looks like it ought to have support for suspend and resume events which it doesn't say it does.

    Still, potentially promising...

  • rexrainbow - sorry I missed this thread (you typo'd my name so the forum didn't alert me)

Your proposed solution is correct, if you modify the SOL for an object, calling objtype.applySolToContainer() will set the corresponding SOLs in the container to have picked the instances corresponding to objtype. However, it's not particularly fast and should only be used in one-off places, like system's Create Object. If it's performance sensitive it gets a lot more complicated, but hopefully that call is enough for all your cases.

  • Yes, please email licensehelppqe@scirra.com if you wish to do this.

  • I think you should contact ludei about this issue. It sounds like a bug, there's no reason their service should reject certain characters.

  • 'Scroller' is just a sprite object moving slowly up the layout. Try making it visible so you can see what it does.

Y co-ordinates increase downwards, so if the Y co-ordinate is greater than something it means it's below, and less means it's above.

I think the latest version of the template uses the viewport expressions, which means it supports any window size. For example, to allow the player to move anywhere on-screen but not go off the top or bottom of the screen, use the following (but update to use the appropriate layer name):

    Player: Y < ViewportTop("MyLayer")

    • set player Y to ViewportTop("MyLayer")

    Player: Y > ViewportBottom("MyLayer")

    • set player Y to ViewportBottom("MyLayer")
  • Look up the Facebook object in the manual. You can only use the 'Login' action in a user input event - you can't log users in automatically.

    og in

Open a popup window requesting the user to log in. This can only be called in a user-input event, such as a key press, button push, mouse click or touch screen tap. The user may cancel at the log in screen so logging in is not guaranteed to be successful.

  • This could break existing projects if we change it, so I'm not sure we can do it. All files should be exported to the root directory, so the best solution is for third party services to support all their files being in root.

  • Closing, please make sure Java is correctly installed or provide enough information for a developer to reproduce the problem as described in how to report bugs.

  • Please see how to report bugs. Can you add the following information:

    • your OS
    • your exact browser version
    • whether it works the same in other browsers (you must install the browsers first, you cannot choose another browser if you haven't got it)
    • whether your project uses any third party plugins
    • if you are using any browser addons or extensions, and if disabling them fixes the problem

    Closing until this is provided

  • Joannesalfa - then try using the 'Scale' mode instead of 'Letterbox scale'.

  • You must use the 'Log in' action before you can use any other features of the Facebook object. Your project does not actually log in the user anywhere.
