The usual way to see if an object has stopped is to test if its speed equals 0.

You need to send the header:

  Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *

in the response from the server you send the AJAX request to. Otherwise, the browser will block the request.

  Hi all,

Just a heads up we're taking a break from 1st to 8th October. We'll try to pop by from time to time, but we'll mostly be away! That means no email replies, forum posting, bug fixes or releases.

We'll get right back into things when we get back on the 8th - back to the usual.

Construct 2 is a 2D game development tool. We're not planning on adding any significant 3D features, except possibly simple Z elevation like in Construct Classic, or shaders in the WebGL canvas.

That's odd - Construct 2 doesn't use .NET and uses very few DLLs (mainly the HTML5 exporter DLL in the install directory).

  Have you tried reinstalling C2?

Edit: you might want to try clearing your cache and re-downloading from Scirra.com - some other threads I've found indicate that error might be from corrupt files.

I've seen a few reports of "object has no animations" bugs. I'm not going to be able to do anything about that until we're back from our break. So I'm not going to set off the auto-updater now. Hopefully I'll be able to fix it for the next release then have a new build out and auto-update to that. Sorry for the trouble!

The .capx doing this would be extremely useful as well (how to report a bug: #5)

Another typical solution is to have an invisible "detector" sprite, always positioned to the right and left of your object. To test if you're against a wall, test if one of the detectors overlaps a wall.

Are you on the latest Chrome (14)? Do other browsers like Firefox 7 and IE9 do the same?

Can you send me the .capx that does that? Or does it do it even with a new blank project?

Well, that's odd! If you don't minify the script, it works OK. If you minify it, it changes the behavior. It must be something the minifier is doing. I'll look in to it.

That's really odd, normally a grey screen like that means an error occurred, and the error is listed under 'Console'. If there are no errors I'm not sure what to say! I've never seen that happen with no errors before.

ScottP, that might work if you made a plugin with the Javascript SDK, but otherwise it's probably too hard to edit the code by hand - it's all auto generated and not easy to work out.
