  • pencilrebel - have you tried installing the latest drivers directly from nVidia?

  • Ashley - false alarm - have a look here - scirra.com/forum/topic62315_post382587.html

Possibly some option for a future to solve any graphics problems for VMWare acceleration.

  • Hi. I tried updating my NVIDIA driver a couple of days ago and after 25mis downloading it came up with a message NVIDIA Installer cannot continue

this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware

I am female 54 and sometimes frazzled but would like to try to understand this so I can make some progress in trying to make a simple game.

    Thank you for your time

  • Aziones Do you know what graphics card you have and which operating system you're on?

If you can, go to Device Manager (in the control panel) and click on Display Adapters, it should list at least the card series under there.

  • Thank you Zantium.   It is NVIDIA GeForce 210M   which I know is rather old but I stupidly thought I could just download the latest thing they had on their website.

The operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.

Do I have to buy another laptop to get a super duper driver :) The Sony Vaio I have is just over 3 years old and I do like it so I don't want to say goodbye to it just yet.

I have just spoken to someone who says I should go to the Sony website and not the NVIDIA. Is that a valid point?

  • Aziones

I'd only go to the Sony website if the graphics manufacturer didn't have an update available, this used to be common but not so much these days.

    I suspect you ended up with a non mobile driver which wouldn't install, this address has the correct one;

    geforce.co.uk/drivers/results/62893

PS If you add in an "@Person" that person gets an alert that you've flagged something for their attention which is helpful for this sort of thing as there's no topic subscription on this forum.

  • Zantium

Thank you very much. I am looking at the link you gave me and will spend a couple of days reading and re-reading the info to make sure I download the right driver...

sorry to admin for getting off Updater tool topic.

  • Aziones

No problem! That link is just for the "M" version of the drivers (Mobile) so you can just download it directly and it should install fine.

    Ashley

Does the tool identify the mobile nVidia chipsets and use a different link for them? - just curious.

  • work fine Windows 8

    NVIDIA GEFORCE GT540M

but i get error on my PC (@Windows XP SP2)

    can you fix it?

  • yosualb: Construct2 doesn't support SP2, be sure to upgrade to SP3.

And as such, it's unlikely the driver tool would support SP2.

  • Kyatric

    oh okay,

    fyi, i has been upgraded to SP3 <img src="smileys/smiley12.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • It works perfectly! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
