Babylon3D: Standard Edition

  • There is no way to draw 3D objects parsed in a JS file on the C2 canvas, there will be a Babylon3D: Editor Edition in which you will be able to make you're scenes entirely using C2 editor.

pffff that will be insane cool Master X3M, incredible job, congratulation. personally i cant wait for it!

  • [quote:65ote0u4]What do you prefer, making a 3D scene in a 3D environment , or imagining the scene in a 2D environment ?

    If i have to choose, I prefer do a 3D scene in a 2D enviorment .

I mean, set the sprites in the C2 layout with their properties and when the game runs, set a mesh in that position with the sprite properties,etc...

And using layers, we can create different levels to do 2nd,3rd floor and all that we want.

Sure, with this feature and others the purchase ratio will be higher, also because people will create stuff more fast that will show what this plugin can do, and they will purchase even if is only to play around, because they will can create a scene or fps or whatever in the C2 layout fast without any 3D editor skills and without go outside C2.

Even if you not allow by the plugin, i think we can do through events.

I mean, put a sprite in the C2 layout, and in events add something like this:

On each "Wall" sprite > Babylon.js create Mesh = Cube On X/Y/Z

If type: Flat = Set Texture Wall_flat.png

If type: Window = Set Texture Wall_Window.png

  • Oh wait! I miss this new messages XD.

So, Babylon will had finally a 2D sprite placement in the C2 canvas like Q3D ? or i'm missing something ?

Developpement is on halt until the Scene Loader Edition reaches v1.0

  • guess that answers my questions of 50 shades of babylon... awesome

  • Oh! :O That looks awesome!!

So when you say "Babylon 3D Editor Edition" this means will be another plugin/product to purchase right?

So i guess the loader scene(the actual released) will be the cheap one for the people not need an editor because they have 3D skills in external editors. And the "Babylon 3D Editor Edition" will be more expensive because will have also the editor to do scenes in C2?

    Sorry is to be clear.

  • matriax correct

  • X3M Ahh! Perfect , I thought there was an unique product, but if there is the direction obviously doing the scene in a 3D editor as requisite for the actual product is not a cons is how is based, because you will have the Editor Edition for people like me to do scenes in C2 editor.

Sorry I misunderstood that, I'm going to change the FIrst-Impresions post with this new info . (Post edited)

About tutorials/video-tuorials and templates with all this things i can help and i will try to do an Arkanoid Tutorial without a 3D editor and share for free, so you can focus on develop the program and go faster to v1.0 to start with the editor version

  • Try Construct 3

  • Interesting plugin. I'm looking forward how it'll develop.

  • The effects/shaders of C2 not works with the plugin. I tried some RGB channel separation, scanlines,etc... and nothing. I don't know if is possible, but will be great if you can make the plugin compatible with the C2 effects.

I saw there is an option on camera called "Post-Process" for Blur, Black&White and others. Maybe there is any chance to add in the list the C2 effects?.

Edit: The blur option the Camera Pot-Process, without X/Y displacement work like a Pixel-Scale to lowres games, so great!

Its not possible because Babylon3D is on a different canvas, C2 effets only apply on C2 canvas.

Babylon3D supports shaders, but I'm not going to work on them yet because I need to read about how shaders work first so you can create your own effects for your games.

For now, I've only implemented some (Black'n'White, Sepia and Blur). I'll work on them on later versions.

  • I see, but the sprites are displayed in the C2 canvas and are visibles in the 3D rendering. Also a sprite with effects in the 3D rendering appears with the effect. Maybe there is some way/trick to get it working? I will try it for curiosity <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz"> .

i can't resist and did some demo, using the actions template. I edited the lights, speed, collision camera, emisive texture, created materials and meshes and this is how looks:

    Here some gif:

Here the demo can be played: https://kronbits.itch.io/proto3d

I was unable to add to the scirra arcade because the file upload system rejected the .zip saying:

"The file extension .babylon is not a permitted extension to upload. "

Seems changing the extension by other allowed works as X3M said by email. BTW, Ashley can you allow this extension to upload in the scirra arcade?

  • matriax You can change the extension to .js for now. Nice demo man!

Making some finishing touches on v0.3

  • Can Blender3d or Maya be used to export armature animation to this thing?

I really dislike 3ds max, nothing personal

Thats gonna be the thing that wins me over in the end really

You should have made it a plugin for blender instead of construct2
