  • So its still a candidate for a new stable build? Does that mean I still can't use it to its current full potential or something?

By the way, I don't know if its a real issue, but I have been experiencing a "an argument was" error or was that "an invalid argument was" error. Well don't know what argument it was but thats all it was saying in the error box which led to the unexpected closing of Construct.

  • Sorry, I've updated the original post text to say it is now the new stable build.

  • The RTS example file is broken in this version and wont run (no idea if it worked in older ones, didn't look at it until this version was downloaded and installed).

  • Two instances of construct open. Both had been working fine, just screwing about trying different things. Closed the second one and went back to the first, went to make a runtime and got this error

    <img src="http://steamgauge.com/misc/construct/error.jpg">

Happened each time I tried. Restarted it, worked fine again. Can't replicate it, don't know what caused it (I wasn't doing anything complex tho).

  • Please report bugs through the tracker, thanks... also, it's very important to have them reproducable so they can be fixed.

  • Oh dear. I'm so close to finishing my huge project, and now this... I should probably install it (especially since so many people are likely to play the game, and this will probably improve stability), but it's terrifying to think that I might have to go back and change a lot of stuff...

Just be sure to make backups, and don't uninstall your current version of Construct just in case something goes wrong.

Is it advisable to have two different versions of Construct installed at the same time?

(I'm definitely upgrading anyway. It's just a little frightening at this point - I've probably put hundreds of hours of work into this game.)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Yeah, you can have several different versions of Construct installed at once. Just install them to different folders.

My record is four versions installed at one time

  • When I run the preview, or a compiled exe. I get this message.

I have every version since 98.9 installed into a convenient "Construct Versions" folder. Very handy.

  • Nice work, keep it up guys!

Also, about time the front page was updated. I almost thought this place was dead, being the lazy person I am and never checking the forums.

  • Configuration is incorrect.

    Won't start here. ):

  • Does it happen in 0.99.72? What is the exact error message?

  • Now it just says "Error executing program". :/

Previously it was along the lines "Cannot start the application because the configuration file is incorrect. Please re-install your application.".

Haven't tried 0.99.72 though, but I did try earlier unstable versions and they didn't work too.
