dos88 - the browser version will soon be able to do almost everything the desktop download can. For example see this thread on using local file & folder saves in Chrome from the browser. The desktop download is just a wrapper for the browser version anyway, so is basically becoming redundant.
Native engines are a whole other ballpark, but I blogged a few years ago about why they're no silver bullet.
I came from C2 but had to stop using it when NWJS out-updated C2 and now takes like 10 minutes to run (even on my I9 9900k) I tried out C3's demo in the browser but I just can't do it, I have to have something that I can access offline and without issues and doesn't require $$$ RAM to keep going for a good 4-5 hours per session.
I just wish that there was something there with your event system that could just do a native compile to desktop platforms lol as I can't afford to use an engine that's wrapper is going to force any desktop application to be over 100mb :3
Do you have any idea how much money you could make with an engine like that ?
