Hi,
I've always like the speed of the event sheets and I can see that by adding in scripting, it will make the engine better and more versatile.
What was the inspiration of adding the scripting feature? Was it requested?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
These days I think there is a wider recognition of the importance of programming as a skill, especially in education, and especially for people's careers (e.g. if you want to work in the tech industry). I think it was the right time to take this step, and the positive feedback we've had seems to vindicate that. We outlined much of the rationale in the blog post Introducing JavaScript coding in Construct.
This is all great news. The I just experimented a bit with the code and one feature that would be awesome is autocomplete. This would make coding much easier to manage.
Yep, that's on the todo list.
