  • Here is a game I am working on as of right now and just wanted to know if it would work for this competition.

Each color blue box are rotate-able.

  • Fuged: reminds me of TIM :)

  • No it will not work for the competition unfortunately, Its a great game, But the rules of the comp state that rotation must be incorporated through the use of the action: RotateLayer, Or RotateLayout.

  • but if you look at the arcade, there is games with rotation function that's not have either action (rotatelayer or rotatelayout) just the angle stuff...

i think there is no problem. and in fact this game have a rotation action with the "+" object

  • Many problems... but working hard... <img src="smileys/smiley41.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    any suggestions???

  • Not going to enter the competition myself, got more demanding projects to work on.

But I've created an example that demonstrates a rotatable layout and world gravity: Tiltball Example

Left and right mouse buttons to rotate the layout. Rather simple. The ball and walls have physics behaviors.

Feel free to (ab)use it, as I won't be entering the contest!

your game have problems with collisions, i'm using chrome and the ball just cant detect any collision

Confirmed. Does not work with Chrome nor FireFox!

  • Tested in all browsers and does not work ... I will leave this project to the background and get another ...

  • I too am having problems with collisions when rotating layers. Could be a nasty bug

  • Just rechecked it. When rotating layers collisions aren't triggered correctly or not at all. When i removed rotation it worked. So i'm pretty much stuck in my game till this bug is solved :(

If its a bug, why dont you report it in the 'bugs' section?

Mipey's example seems to show that collisions are working.

  • Well i maybe shouldn't have called it a bug since i'm not sure it's a bug so that's why i didn't report of course. It's just that i couldn't find a solution till now. When the layer rotates it doesn't trigger the collisions correctly. Maybe there's some other factors involved. I'll keep scrutinizing my project to find the culprit.

It seems to me that if you add widgets that provide the ability to rotate layers or the layout as part of your puzzle it would work. For example, consider a level where you have the ball positioned below the target and don't provide an elevator--there appears to be no solution. But if when the ball rolls it flips a switch that rotates the layer or the layout, voila! It can be something that only gets unlocked in later levels, so your current levels would still be good. It is certainly an integral part of game play since there isn't a way to solve without rotating.

Anyway, that's my opinion. Maybe someone else can chime in here.
