  • I see it's confusing because I wrote "Let's create an array..." and "Let's set the value...", which suggests that I want the reader to follow along in C2. But that wasn't my intention. I wanted the reader to just read the tutorial and the screenshots are there to illustrate what I'm talking about. I never imagined you would actually create an array called animals and set the first value to "cat". It was just an example, you know? That's why I didn't mention adding the array plugin or creating a condition. The answer to "where do I add that action?" is: anywhere you want. On start of layout, mouse click, every tick... it depends on your project and what you want to use the array for. But I can see where the confusion comes from.

  • Hi Ramones,

Thank you very much for your input. I was not following every step exactly as in your tutorial. However I thought by knowing how to access the panels in your guide, it would help me to navigate through the following processes. I was actually trying to set up chord arrays to store notes (sound file info). However I have a big weekend coming up, and as soon as I can get my browser to display the new effects, I'll probably be spending most of time working with those. I may just learn to do arrays in js first.

Again thanks Ramone I'm glad you seem to understand some of my frustration.

  • Val, I'm sorry you wasted nearly 2 hours on it.<img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle"> Feel free to PM me any specific questions if you like.

AlexeyMak I put together an example of what you'd need to do to save your level data in an array and save/load that in webstorage.

    levelArrayWebstorage.capx (r100)

  • ramones,

Thank you for you offer of guidance. I just got back from vacation, and appreciate seeing your invite to learn more. I'll holler when I need a hand.

  • Hi Alexey!

I had my hands full and did not try to open your capx until this morning. I could not open the file because it had a plugin that I guess my version not compatible with.

I'll make sure I have the latest version.

I appreciate every ones help. SOMEDAY I WILL ARRAY!
