Early Adopter

• If you've made 5,000 off of your game, I think the extra 60 bucks won't really be a deal breaker.

• Kyatric, we'll be adding an upgrade option which will just be the difference soon.

• hero_bash They will give a warning before they change anything regarding the license. You should read more of the posts.

• Rather than start a new thread, I figured I'd drop my questions in here:

1) If I start with the Standard license and then release a game which goes on to make over 5000, can I then upgrade AFTER those sales figures come through? I can't foresee how well the game will sell, no matter how confident I am, so there wouldn't be a penalty for selling over my license so long as I upgrade asap, would there?

2) Construct Classic had issues with stability when games became too large. Mine is pretty big as it is, and I'm looking into the possibility of sequels 'bolting-on' like stand-alone expansions (playable separately, or expanding the game world of the original game). How confident are you that C2 won't experience similar stability issues with big games?

Thanks for reading ^^

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• 1) Yep, once you hit $5,000, then you have to buy the commercial license.

2) I'm not a scirra developer, but I am quite confident that that won't be a problem. I've been using construct almost since it was originally released to the public years ago, and construct two is vastly more stable than CC was this far along in development.

• I bought it and It works fine. When are you going to add jump sustain?

• Just purchased standard license for now. I'm really excited to see how Construct 2 grows now that you guys are being rewarded financially for all your hard work.

• Would there be other payment methods? Paypal reuires the credit card

• Hi Hero,

Hope to have other options available by sometime this weekend. If you have a particular one you wish to send us payment on, send us an email and we can usually set up an account with that provider.

Tom

• Thanks for the reply!

Purchased a Standard license. Good luck with the development guys, I'm glad you're able to make a living out of this now.

• Purchased a Standard license too. Great work, keep this pace.

• Just bought my license. For now the standard license suffices well enough for me. I plan on making commercial games at some point in the future, and if the early adopter plan runs out before I hit 5000 (likely). Hey, more money to you guys! =)

What do you mean, "run out"?

• What do you mean, "run out"?

I think he's referring to the 'Early Adopter' price reduction, which will run out eventually, not the license (I hope!!!) :)

Tom has already said you buy the one license only, for ever, and only need to upgrade to a commercial license (pay the difference) when you start making 5g or more. Well, that's how I read it :/

Yeah, I asked on twitter once and they confirmed it. You buy it once, and if you make more than 5k you pay the commercial license.

I do hope I can make more than 5k by making games someday haha
