Can't minify after Java update

Try install and use java version 6. I think there is a tutorial regarding publishing your apk with old version of java. The newer version 7 might got issues and I don't know about version 8. The minify script or program might be using old version of Java to avoid issues.

If you have java 6, check your Path and JAVA home directory in the windows system properties settings.

Note the part about suggesting you use 32 bit.

No proof positive, but I uninstalled the 64 bit, and reinstalled the 32, and its now working.

newt I tried this and doesn't work, you must be using the 32-bit version of C2 and not the 64-bit version like I am using.

tumira i'm well aware of downgrading, but that doesn't solve the problem in the long term or explain why it happens.

I wonder which path does Construct 2 look to find java?

P.S. For now I went back to Java 7 update 55 (64-bit) and minify script works fine, but this issue is still not resolved as should work with latest Java as we need to be up to date.

I don't think that downgrading is the way to go too... hope this be fixed on next updates.

I don't know if this can help, but I solved problems with some java softwere by reinstaling java 7...

Huh, I'm having trouble with this too. Installed 32 bit first, then 64. Can't minify. Weird...

I have the same problem, I did a manual install of java 64-bit version but still the same...

Windows 8.1 64-bit

Java 8 update 25 (64-bit)

Java SE Development kit 8 update 20 (64-bit) (<- I'm using eclipse too)

Construct 2 r184 (64-bit)

Edit: Java 7 update 55 (64-bit) does work! You have to downgrade for now. Java deleted the download links from their website but you can still get it at:

Once there, search for "Java SE Runtime Environment 7u55". You have to click the radio button next to "Accept License Agreement" for the download to start. Then just install it, reboot C2, and the minifier will work again.

Just for the record, I'm also not able to use minify in C2 64 bit.

I have the same problem. Tried latest java version, tried 32 and 64 bits, tried downgrading up to java 7.

No way to minimize.

The only thing I have to try is to try the 32 bit version of Construct 2...

Did not solve; Construct 2/32 + Java 32 does not work for me.

I can successfully execute java from the command line and java -version returns:

java version "1.8.0_111"
