Don't miss out on the latest and greatest new features in Construct Animate
Notes
It's the start of a new release cycle, and we have a big release for you this week! Starting things off, Construct now has initial support for 3D collisions! This means the usual collision checks like 'On collision' and 'Is overlapping' take into account the Z axis, whereas previously it ignored the Z axis entirely (handling collisions as if they were 2D). Currently this only checks the 3D box around objects, but it includes 3D rotation, the shape setting of the 3D shape object, and the collision polygon of 2D objects like Sprite when using 3D rotation. Most notably 3D model currently just uses the 3D bounding box, but we're hoping to improve things there soon. This is still enough to open up features like jumping between 3D shapes and 3D movement behaviors. You can also see the updated 'First person platformer' example which now uses true 3D collision detection rather than emulating it in the event sheet. Note however enabling 3D collision detection is not a backwards-compatible change: therefore there is a new project compatibility setting to opt-in to 3D collision detection. Existing projects continue to use 2D collision detection for backwards compatibility, but new projects automatically enable 3D collisions.
This release also includes lots more updates for 3D model. These include new options for morph target animations, a default model, unique icons, and import updates, as well as some bug fixes and an optimization.
Finally there's a batch of other changes, such as specifying a color for ambient light, version updates for WebView2 and Monaco (the code editor), and more. Happy testing!

Launch r507
New Features
New Additions
Mouse/Touch: use collision polygon when checking mouse over/touching 3D rotated object
Offset Z parameter for 'Is overlapping at offset' condition
Project property 'Collision mode'
Set the ambient light color for 3D lighting
3D model: support morph target animations with new ACEs and scripting API
3D model: add a default model to new projects
3D model: unique icons for 3D model objects and 3D model object types
3D model: option to draw texture blending it with the texture color
3D model: prompt for missing resources during the import process if necessary
Changes
Update 'First person platformer' example to use 3D collisions
Layout View: improve rendering of editing mesh in 3D view mode
3D model: hide animation properties if a model doesn't have any animations
Runtime: ignore attempts to set object positions, sizes or angles to NaN or Infinity
Find references/find results: increase displayed character limit before/after match from 100 to 1000
Update Monaco (code editor) to v0.57.0
Windows WebView2: update WebView2 SDK to v1.0.4191.47
Bug Fixes
Custom actions could run with zero instances picked
Drawing Canvas: could not fill non-convex poly with duplicated points
Crash renaming layer across project if name was already used on a different layout
Possible blank screen when using effects with 3D lighting in WebGPU renderer
3D model: avoid loading unnecessary textures on start of layout
3D model: unload unused textures of 3D models between layout changes
3D model: ensure 3D model textures are released in layouts with no 3D models
3D model: always start animations from the beginning when changing them from a timeline
Timelines: expressions executed on 'On keyframe reached' triggers not producing accurate results
Timelines: wrong editor preview when animating the "initial frame" property of a Sprite instance
Performance Improvements
3D model: avoid ticking instances which don't need it
Scripting updates
Rename ILayout ambientLight to ambientLightAmount
3D model: 'loadModel' method now returns a promise
