  • Hello all, im working on the kill point value again because I added 2 types of points the player can make from killing the enemy and that is either half or the full point value of the enemy thats been killed. Example, Blue enemy has 50-100Pts. If you kill B.Enemy with gun1 or gun2, you just get 50pts. But, if you kill them with both guns, gun1 & gun2, you get 100pts. Now, I got it to spawn the 50 because you hit an enemy with one or the other gun of course, but what im trying to do is spawn the full value (100pts) when both bullets kill the enemy so it can let the player know they got the full point from killing that enemy. Im unsure of how to do that and would like some insight on how to do it.

  • Yeah np! Glad I could help.

  • Oh okay, thanks for clarifying more on it. It looks okay so far, I think it could need a bit of a design or detail on it, but do it or make it to the best of your ability and what you are aiming for it to look. If you feel happy or satisfied with it, then continue on from there. If not, no problem. just start on a new one until you know you like it for sure.

  • Oh okay! Very nice and good luck with your game!

  • Let me first just be totally honest. You really can't give an opinion because it's just a blue box with a circle. Theres nothing besides this of what im looking at to give you an actual opinion. Like this is a beginning step to take, but other than that, I can't really say much of it. It's just the start of your work, so you gotta do more of it for you to continue to see more of the progress. Then, you can get an actual opinion of your work progress all together.

"Generally speaking, sometimes you can win prices like consoles and other goods but I think straight up money prices are rare."

Thats very cool for the chances to win consoles. Reading the prizes of these links were pretty interesting, the itch.io link do tooo many jams, and it almost get you lost looking at all of them lol. But thats very nice. It's not always about winning money for these jams (winning it would be nice of course lol) but was just curious about jams that has happened where money was the prize.

"My game won Construct Community Jam last year. There were no money prizes, but I got a free year of C3 license and a great collection of plugins."

Congratulations! It must of been a surprising moment for you! I think that is a very nice and fitting prize to win. C3 for a full free year is wonderful! Very happy for you. Are you planning on entering the ludum dare jam this year?

  • Was just curious about these game jams events and competitions and what not and was wondering has construct ever held one where the user that entered win like actual money? If so, how often do these events happen involving money as prizes? I know majority of these are created for fun and for indie game developers to connect and be involve with the community, but was curious if sometimes these events do give out money prizes for the winner(s) of these events to reward them with the work they completed within a short time.

  • savvito123Thank you for your help! I appreciate it. The events are much better than how I had it set up. Thanks once more.

  • So, im working on recovery from wall damage and over time, the player recovers "health" from not hitting the walls. I got it to recover, however it's improperly recovering the health and skips the bars that's suppose to reappear to let the person know exactly how much health the player actually has. I made a demo of it and will provide a link for it as well. If someone could look at this and give some insight on this, that would be nice.
