  • Happy Saturday everyone! Im here with the levels update, so lets get to it.

LEVELS UPDATE 2 - LEVELS COMPLETED

Im officially done with all the levels! Now that I've completed this, I can officially start working on resetting the game!

    RESTART GAME UPDATE 0

In this area, I will be focusing on properly working on getting the player to die from enemy and to restart the game once all the lives are gone.

    These tasks will include...

    1.Death from collision with enemy.

    2.Player animation death.

3.Respawning player back to position after death.

4.Setting enemy back to their positions after players death.

5.Subtracting the lives of the player.

    6.Show "Game Over" text.

7.Resetting/restarting all variables once game is over and go back to homescreen when player loses all lives.

That is it for now. But im happy great progress is being made. These tasks shouldn't be long to do.

  • Hey hey, im back with my update! So let's just get to it.

    LEVELS UPDATE 1

So I decided that there will probably be about 18 levels for this short arcade game. I think it's a reasonable amount of levels amount that isn't too short but also isn't too long. I have completed 12 levels so far. So once I finish with completing all the levels, I will double check all the levels to make sure the difficulty is reasonable to set at.

After this, I can work on resetting the game, work on hi-score leaderboard and create an ending for the game. That's all for the update folks! Hope everyone have a good week.

  • Im back with another project idea that I had in mind at the time, but was put back for a reason.... This project that I thought of at the time is called ILL-LEGAL INTENTIONS. This game came in mind from mass shootings and how many of the shooters claim or was labeled as "ill" from their horrific actions. It was planned to maybe become a 3D shooting game, but because this type of game is a very sensitive and controversial to make, it was obviously put in the trash. But there was actually a lesson that was going to be made from the game. The real lesson is to not even play the game at all if you think k*ing is fun, despite it being a "game". It was really test the player's mind and morals.....

I didn't get far with any other thing for this project. I literally stop at the menu screen and decided, this may not be a good idea.

  • hmmm, im not sure. I wish I could help you on this, but I don't know enough on how JSON script coding works or whats really going on behind it :(

  • Okay....so I took a look at it and compared how it was coded vs how your JSON script was coded. Since the two was kinda unclear to tell exactly what the brackets were. I think I saw some red flags of yours that I notice looking at the tutorial scrpt...

I put the number so you can tell where I think your mistakes were at. At the beginning of 1. is the bracket green like in the tutorial JSON you copied from?

On 2, I not sure if it makes a difference but the brackets seem a little too spaced apart and the "]" above the circle of 2 of you Coding, should be over a bit like it is in the original JSON script.

and for 3, I notice after it says "Dialogs": { in the orginal JSON script, your is scripted like this "Dialogs:{[ ......should this "[" be below that, like it is in the Original JSON script?

  • Oh my gosh...this way too big to try to compare the two. Can you post them side by side so we can see exactly whats going on with the two?

  • What does the JSON script coding from the tutorial look like? Post a screen shot of it and compare how the JSON is scripted in it vs how you have yours scripted. If it is followed as you mentioned from the tutorial you referenced from, then it should be coded the same as so. Again, I don't know much about JSON script, let alone JSON script coding, but tracing back is always good when your not sure of why your coding isn't working.

  • I may not know much about JSON script, but have you traced back to see where the script code was working at in your project or wasn't working at? That could be a good place to start if you know where it was working at.

Edit: I found this tutorial that might could help you with your chat box.

  • No problem! You don't have to create a prototype :) Your suggestions was enough to help solve something out at least. I will try creating an instance variable for it. Maybe something like this, LOS = 1 if Los = 2 Set animation "icon" (play from beginning). I think that would work. I will try it!

  • Okay, so I got the icon to react when player is near with LOS. But now, how do I turn it off if player isn't near or have LOS of object anymore?

  • Oh my gosh, thanks for that idea! I didn't even think of that. I tried to think of so many ways to code it when player is near. But im sure LOS can read it more efficiently then trying to hard code the distance of the item. thanks! I'll try it!

  • Hello all, im trying to get my icon on the screen to reacted when player is near or within distance of a certain object.

    Ex.

Player is near item, (lamp icon) glows.
