  • Hello Everybody, My name is Hiel and I am building my first game ever!

  • Buenas! meu nome Ledson Vanini, sou novo em criao de jogos mas estou muito empolgado com os recursos do CONSTRUCT 2.

  • <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> hi

  • My name is Dylan Williams. I'm 21 years old. I'm new to the game development community. I've been playing video games since I was 4 years old. My first game was Kirby's Adventure for the NES. It's one of my favorite games of all time, along with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro for the PS1 and PS2. My favorite games for PS3 include: Uncharted, God of War 3, MLB 10: The Show, and Heavy Rain. I enjoyed playing video games so much, that I thought to myself one day, "Why not make them?" That was about 6 years ago. It's been a rocky start, but I think I've finally got it figured out and I'm now in the process of creating my first game.

I hope you all enjoy my creations!

  • Hi everyone!

I'm Danny, a computer science teacher. Construct 2 seem to be great for game creation without the programming part. I'll take a look at it and probably gonna use it with my 14-15 years old students at school. I'm sure they gonna love this project!

  • Hi,

    I'm french graphic designer.

I mostly want to produce some game on mobile device, so i'm testing free version of construct2 right now.

  • Hello! I am 32 years old and am fortunate and blessed to live in Colorado, just south of Denver. I have been enjoying games since before I was 10 years old and always thought it would be amazing to get involved in creating games. This past year I had the opportunity to get involved in game development via one of our companies clients and so I am diving in full force. I have already had the chance to re-skin a few games and get my feet wet with C2. I am more of a designer and front-end developer and so Construct 2 is a perfect fit for me and allows me to get into the game dev world without having to be nearly as smart as man of the other talented folks out there that make games.

Now for some favorites. I have had various systems in my video game journey. The first system my family owned was a regular 8-bit NES. My favorite NES game of all time is Solstice although there are so many others that I thoroughly enjoyed including Castlevania 3, Metal Gear, TMNT, Star Tropics, Duck Tales, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Tecmo Super Bowl, etc.

I have since bought various consoles over the years and remember the some of the major releases and genre front runners such as Doom, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, etc.

As of late I am a PS3 man and some of the best games I have played to date seem to be on that console. The Uncharted series is quite possibly my favorite franchise of all time and the I really enjoyed "The Last of Us", so much so that it may have ruined the majority of video games that will be released in the future. I am a huge Gran Turismo fan and have been playing them since the PS One days.

I also enjoy the tablet and mobile game world but more as a casual player. I love infinite runners and simple puzzle games. I am looking forward to diving into games similar to that with the C2 engine and will most likely be looking for some help from all of you experts! Looking forward to getting involved in the conversation!

  • So first time user and after downloading the program and clicking on new project the construct 2 program crashes.

The program worked fine for 1 min then it just keeps crashing. SMH I really wanted to try this program but it has left me with a bad taste.

  • Based on my demographic, I'm an atypical game developer.

    Why?

There are not a lot of females of my vintage either involved in or interested in game dev. Women, sadly, are still the minority in this pursuit (but we are gaining ground... yay!) and, as far as age goes, you can estimate my years based on the following clues: My first computer was a Vic-20. Data was stored on a cassette tape (I'm sure that some of you have never even seen one of these in real life, let alone used one). When I started experimenting with technology, I owned a portable record player, "mobile phones" were the size of a large brick and called 'car phones' because they were *literally* attached to a car. I played Pac Man so frequently that I still have a distinct bump on the side of my middle finger from calluses courtesy of the joystick, telephones had dials and, because I lived in a rural area, my family's telephone line was actually shared with two other neighbors. Oh, and the Internet? *Not even invented yet*. What??!! That's cray-zeee!

However, as a modified adage goes: 'You can't always judge an ebook by it's cover page'.

I am primarily an artist/designer but, on the technical side: I manage my own linux servers, I've been developing Flash games for over a decade, I construct ( + map and texture) 3D models, developed databases, and have intermediate knowledge of quite a few programming languages. I lived through and survived the 'Dot-Bomb,' via a children's entertainment website I developed and maintain that currently celebrates over 15 years of moderate success.

Being that my strengths lie more in the arts than the technical, Construct 2 is an absolute Godsend for me. With an excellent manual, wonderful tutorials, and fantastic community, I've been able to get a pretty quick grasp on the nuts and bolts of this extremely intuitive software. I love how, instead of spending endless hours on the programming side of things, I can quickly get the game mechanics laid out and move onto developing the graphics and getting things ready for deployment. Not since Flash have I found an easier tool to work with and, now that Flash is in a hospital bed hooked up to a slow drip, Construct 2 is the exact thing that I needed to allow me to continue my work in a way that will conform to the newer technologies.

I downloaded the free version less than a month ago, read the fantastic manual, experimented voraciously, and recently upgraded to the pro version after officially falling in love with Scirra and Construct 2!

Thank you to the Scirra team for my favorite new tool, and to everyone for your great tutorials, plugins, ideas and other contributions. I look forward to seeing you all around the forums and, to some day perhaps, being innovative enough to be able to give back to the community with my own contributions.

Aloha and have a great day :)

  • SUP! im void and im AWESOMLY bored ._.

  • Hi I'm camrazor a new scirra's user, thank you to let me in on this comunity.

I'm a begginer on HTML, PHP, JS and game design, also a LoL player and Fan.

  • Great to meet you guys!

  • Hey people, the name's phillip, I hail from Chile, that long lost piece of land on south america, and I find myself already diggin' the forum's archives to solve the many questions I see myself asking regarding development. I think that's a good sign actually...

anyway, proyecting seems to be what people does the most, but taking the next step is the hard part and I believe I'll get the tools needed by stayin' here and asking as much as possible.

  • Wow... some people in here have such wonderful back stories! I'm afraid I'm not going to live up to such introductions. Actually, I know I'm not going to, so I guess I'll just jump into my lame intro now. :)

Hi, my name is Anthony and I live in Central Florida. That means that whenever the wind blows, we get terrible rain and we lose power. That's not especially fun for me since I'm a techno geek!

I've been a gamer since the Atari 2600, and my favorite game from that time is most definitely a game called Adventure! Castles, keys, swords, dragons, bats... this game had it all and had me hooked! Then the NES came along and gave me The Legend of Zelda and I never looked back! Gamer for Life!

So here I am many years later and looking forward to the possibility of contributing to a hobby that has kept me company and kept me sane throughout my life!

I look forward to sharing and learning all that I can here.

    End of Line.
