  • I am currently working on several sets of stock game art - so far mainly characters. Check out the BlockBuddies:

    BlockBuddies game art

Each set comes with 53 frames and 4 sizes (S 64x64, M 96x96, L 128x128 and XL 256x256) and also includes a flipped version for game engines like GameSalad.

The sets sell at USD 15.00 with the bundles containing 3 characters selling at USD 37.50 and two character sets going for USD 20.00.

  • It's great too see how many artists there are on the forums these days.I like your sprites SpriteAttack keep it up.

  • Very nice SpriteAttack.

It was a controversial topic last time i checked - but i think these posts call for there own section in the forum.

  • Thanks, guys... I am surprised there is no 'game art' section on the forum...

  • Great job!

We have lots of programming tutorials but not much about creating artwork. I would be curious to read a step-by-step guide of how you go about creating one of your buddies.

  • Are these sprites? They look so smooth.

  • Cross_: It's not exactly the blockbuddies but SpriteAttack had mentionned tutorials for inkscape he wrote.

I remember having checked his blog and learnt a lot.

I also was blown away by how easy he made making awesome sprites look <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • - sprites are basically moving objects and don't have to be pixeled. In order to create content quicker I create most of my art in vectors - as it scales lossless.

Kyatric - thanks... It's not that hard to get started and after that it's a matter of practice, more practice and a little bit more - or in my case 20+ years of it... :)

  • SpriteAttack: It looked like vector, yes. I just meant to ask if they were pixel based, cos they didn't look like it. I like both, Vector and Pixel Art. Both have their own beauty.

  • Judging from your style, I think you're going to like the bones behavior once we get it.

  • Thanks, guys... I am surprised there is no 'game art' section on the forum...

Any art assets, sort of fall under the category of Tools/Resources. Some people choose to share this kind of thing in Open Topic, but since yours seems to be a commercial package I would suggest T&R would be a good place to submit things like this in future if you want more people to see it.

Nice work by the way. They look pretty polished :D
