Have you seen any ufos?

  • I have... Two green spheres that hover one meter above the ground and then shot of into space at a speed of 20 000 km/H.

  • I couldn't recognize any. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Yes,

Being a long time paranormal follower I have seen a number of unusual things, two UFO incidents stand out.

Looking out my window one night (as I do every night) I noticed a 'star' moving from the distance towards my direction, as it got overhead it vanished, "ahh, a satellite" I though. A few minutes later it happened again... light from the distance vanishing overhead... then again around 10 mins later, the exact same thing! 3 'stars' in a row starting in the same place and vanishing in the same place.

When working out in a field one day I noticed what looked like a silver orb high in the sky moving slowly, few seconds later two more orbs appeared and sped towards the first orb, all three now in a row, the first and third orbs then took off leaving the second orb moving across the sky until it disappeared.

Both absolutely true as I saw it. :)

Maybe orions belt covered by venus?

  • Yes, with swamp gas reflecting the moon onto flying birds which then reflected it back onto cabbage leaves... easy mistake to make... :)

  • I have to say there was one evening I spent on a beach in Scotland and I was gazing at the stars. One star started getting brighter and brighter (it wasn't moving) and then it flashed, the entire beach lit up like daylight (it was about 1am). Other people were with me and saw it too! After a bit of investigation apparently the most likely cause is a satellite realigning it's solar panels which can light up small areas on earth very brightly. I suppose that makes more sense than aliens shining lights on me!

  • Meh, in scotland, it was Highlanders having a quickening.

Someone lost his head that night.

Did you hear some "Queen" playing in the distance ?

    ^^

  • I've seen some twice or three times.

  • Yes, about 20 years ago one night in Wisconsin I was driving my friends car because he was to stoned to drive. We dropped off a friend who lived on a dead end country road in the middle of nowhere. After he went in his house we started to drive, and I noticed some red, and green lights moving across the sky towards us. At first I thought it was just a low flying plane but then it got real close about 20 feet off of the ground right buy our car. I looked at my friend and before I could say do you see that? He started freaking out yelling it's a F***ing UFO!

So I continued to drive if I would speed up it would speed up, If I stopped which scared my friend the UFO would stop it just stayed about 10 feet in front of the car, and about 20 feet in the air. After we drove about 5 miles it shot to the other side of the road but maintained the same distance from our car. Then for the next 5 miles it just kept moving from one side of the road to the other.

Then as we were approaching a stop sign the UFO slowly started moving off across a field towards a town were I lived. When we came to a stop it turned over on it's side, and all we could see was a spiral of small bright blueish white lights with one large very bright white light in the center. It then started to move towards us I was trying to figure out how to lock my car door like that would have helped. My friend was freaking out begging me to go. It got so close, and the lights were so bright that his cars black dash even looked white. I really wanted to know what it was that we were seeing but the situation was so intensely uncomfortable I just punched the accelerator to the floor, and started jamming through the gears. Once I was up to speed, and feeling a little bit safer I looked around, and couldn't see anything. Then all of a sudden it flew off the top of our car about 2 inches off of the cars windshield, and hood. Then slapped down about 6 inches off of the road and shot into town, then about 100 feet in the air, and then landed in a field on the other side of town all at a very high rate of speed. I got a very close look at it when this happened it was made of some type of solid like metal, it was wedged shaped, and about the size of a small car. The bottom of it was full of small blueish white lights.

Well now that it had landed we just had to take a closer look. So I started to drive to the other side of town were it landed. As we were driving some people in a car waved us down, and tolled us that the UFO had been hovering over there house for the last 2 weeks. Normally I would have thought they were nuts but seeing is believing. Anyway they said that they have been trying to communicate with it by using morse code with a flashlight. I remember thinking what a way to start an interstellar war.

We all decided to walk up to it but as we were walking accosted the field it shot up into the air about 100 feet, and started to move out of town. We all ran to our cars, and started chasing it. All of a sudden two police cars joined us in the chase but the faster we went the faster the UFO went. My friends car only could go 85 miles per hour so the UFO, and the police lost us. We then gave up turned around, and went back into town but just before we got to town another UFO shot up from that field, and hovered about 100 feet above us for a minute then shot off into the stars at a speed faster than anything mans current technology can.

I never saw anything like that since. Iv seen some crazy sh*t in my life but that one is at the top of my list.

  • WOW! Now THAT'S a real ufo encounter!

    Highly interesting.

You should file it to MUFON or similar organizations.

  • MUFON? I will look it up.

I haven't thought about that in quite some time until I read this thread.

I always believed that we are not alone but after seeing that I know.

  • Human memory is exceedingly malleable. Given days, months, years, let alone 20 years, a minor optical illusion can grow into quite a story.

That combined with general misconceptions, cultural and belief predispositions, poor levels of education, drug use and straight out desire, makes eye witness accounts less than reliable.

This is why anecdotal evidence isn't really worthwhile. Certainly not to prove anything as extraordinary as extra terrestrial life and or visitations.

  • GOOD thing than that I, and all the 4 witnesses wrote down our accounts without speaking to eachouter the very same day

  • I am not sure if you are meaning to imply that you saw and extraterrestrial alien device/creature when you say UFO, or just that there was an event you feel was unexplainable.

If it is the second then that is quite reasonable, but you must remember that something that is unexplained(by your understanding or perspective) does not mean that it is ultimately unexplainable.

    However.

GOOD thing than that I, and all the 4 witnesses wrote down our accounts without speaking to eachouter the very same day

While this action mitigates the memory issues, it doesn't account for the other ones. More over it reinforces my belief that you have the predisposition and desire to believe in supernatural/unexplainable events. You have basically quoted rule number 5 of MUFONs "Ten things you should do if you encounter a UFO" FAQ page.

  • I don't. But I am, and was at the time, aware of memory being tainted by witness sharing their accounts with each other. It's common knowledge. The spheres I saw could not hold any creatures as they where quite small, so i think extraterrestials are out of the question, although i do belive in extraterestrials, but did not at the time.

Our accounds did indeed differ somewhat. I said they where green and one of my friends said it was white. Another one said it was yellowish.

Also size, speed, altitude and such differed somewhat.
