I have just downloaded Construct and can't wait to start exploring all it's features. I was looking at some of the screen shots of other peoples work and am amazed at how good their graphics are. I was wondering how they do it. Doing it on a program like paint would take ages so what program do they use??
Sorry if I am asking dumb questions .. I'm not the most intelligent what it comes to graphical design/image manipulation.
Thanks heaps in advance.
when I make stuff I usually use photoshop and 3dstudio max, maybe flash if its easy to do in vectors. I know a few people use GIMP and paint.net as well. any of those are good choices.
Paint, GIMP and now 3dsmax (for latest project) mostly just draw like plan with paint and then finish and color with GIMP.
graphicsgale + paint
mostly paint, and for some stuff Photoshop/Painter (like in MEGA THUMB)
I use paint.net, it has a really easy to use interface and is plenty powerful enough for my needs, plus being free is awesome. Gimp is another free option, more powerful than paint.net but i can't stand the interface.
These apps are useful.
I try to use freeware where I can but sometimes I've had to buy a commercial application to get things done faster and has sometimes been the only way.
Add a couple years practice for the awesome part.
Mainly pencil+paper, scanner, photoshop, and 3ds max for animations(even for 2d).
You can try Artrage, it has a freeware version.
And Anime Studio it is a very good 2d animation tool too.
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
So you guys just get onto paint draw a rough image and then edit it with another program?? That sounds so much easier than is actually is... lol
If you don't give up, you might actually have hope. It is tedious work
