  • I second that.

  • DatapawWolf Fundamentally there's no big problem with using construct for 3D. Sure the event editor isn't geared towards it, but using the event sheet and other plugins makes prototyping things that would take a whole lot of time to troubleshoot and build in javascript much much quicker and effective. Making things work in 3D is much easier than you're assuming.

  • there's a reason Scirra hasn't messed with 3D yet.

Actually, they did some great stuff in CC regarding 3D boxes, importing 3D OBJ static models, and mesh distortions. Between those three things you can make a full 2.5D game like GTA 1&2 or Wolfenstein/Doom <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile"> (or Quazi's awesome MEGA THUMB game: http://gamejolt.com/games/arcade/mega-t ... atch/3161/ )

I agree that 2D should be the focus for the near future, but it's good to have ideas for the future too <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz">

  • Also. There isn't really any loss in third party people using their time to develop 3D plugins.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

Absolutely this... Scirra will not lose any time developing their stuff, the community works on their plugins that scirra can concentrate on the important part (C2 itself, basic plugins, more advanced plugins like Multiplayer, ...).

I have good use for 3D Possibilities in my apps and look forward to see an easy way to import 3D Models into my apps

  • html5 3d apps have never had a visual programming tool.

Perhaps there is an opportunity for construct 3 to capture a marketshare in investing in 3d.

Unity is a 3d game engine, but they invested a lot of effort into also making it a 2d game engine.

  • Like i said by the end of the week or beginning of next (like monday) it'll pretty much be ready for release.

Hey so... yeah... any news? I'm really really really REALLY looking forward to play with this

  • every day when i logged in, the first thread that im looking for any updates is this..so as Ize said any news?

  • you know you can get an email update whenever theres a new post in this thread, right?

  • yeah, very curious about an update

  • just a few things left to work out, ive been working every free moment i've had, im currently working out some things to optimize the performance a little.

  • Wow, I'm really looking forward to this! I think 3D can complement 2D really well. For example, in a top-down 2D space game I'm building, I really want to try adding 3D planets in the background. 3D planets would give me much more possibilities, such as higher surface detail, smoother animations, more flexible lighting and extra layers such as clouds.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • QuaziGNRLnose nice! keep up the good work

Please reply in this thread once you've made the demos and / or plugin available in your own thread because i check it every day... more than once

  • i check it every day... more than once

  • sorry for the tease, im close to completion of a good demo showing what can be done.
