Ninja Demo

This forum is currently in read-only mode.
  • Hi Construct community. Im Daniel, And Im new to Construct. I found this place using the google. After watching Ghost shooter tutorial, I was able to make this Ninja game right here. The collision code doesn't seem to work. It works a little, but the enemy turret doesnt pick up collisions very well. Even where there is a clear and direct hit.

Anyways I made this demo for a game I was planning to make. I wanted to test out construct and see if it was capable. I really like the layout of the editor and the organization of events. But my code doesnt work very well, so I might use multimedia fusion 2.

The demo basically demonstrates the weapon throwing capabilities of the Ninja. Theres not much to do except throw three kinds of weapons and kill a near-indestructible turret

I dont really know if this worth posting. Its kinda crappy compared to some of the other games ive seen. Especially viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3729

I would just like some feed back.

Heh. I haven't had a chance to play this yet, but I will say this:

    1. If your code doesn't work very well, then practice your code. If you're having trouble with something, feel free to ask for help.

    2. If your code doesn't work very well, then you're going to have a hell of a time working with MMF2. If you think Construct is tough, then MMF2 will be murder. Seriously. They might look similar on the surface but events definitely don't work the same way. Construct is much more logically laid out, and things like instance picking and re-using events are way easier.

Of course it's your choice, though

  • Lol. I used mmf2 earlier today. MMF2 has less bugs and stuff, but I really like the interface of construct. Not only is it more pleasing to my eyes, but I like the way everything is laid out. Especially the event editor. I will post my code and ask for help. Tomorrow. too sleepy right now.

  • I think Construct is actually less buggy than my experiences with MMF2 Though that was years ago... But MMF2 is like pile of crap... It has crappy performance and it's pretty much limited in few ways though it has lots of great plugins but well if you could make plugins to construct with those free programs we would have a hell lot more already!

Less buggy? I love construct and all, but I can count the times Fusion crashed on me on 1 hand...

Besides HWA (which they are working on) I never felt limited in MMF2 but I love the way the event systems looks/works in construct a bit more: It is a lot more readable, Plus you get more mileage out of eventsheets with construct.

  • MMF is a finished product, Construct is in development.

  • lol MMF isn't finished... it's a working alpha of construct... hahaha. The reason it doesn't crash as much, is because its so basic and featureless there's not much to go wrong xD

  • Let's not get all patriotic about it.

Though the bit about being an alpha of Construct is pretty goddamn funny
