  • Hmm, I don't know really. I guess it just got pushed down the list somehow.

  • Ok, new problem. I've finished up the toolshed items object, and I'm trying to go through that and make it just like PixelRebirth did with the house item object, however I'm having lots of problems with it not detecting being overlapped. The event sheet is a bit of a mess now but if you can manage to go through that and find out what I'm doing wrong, that would make my day.

    Here's the cap: http://www.sendspace.com/file/i8v1bu

  • That was an easy fix.

    Just remove the OR from the following event:

    You should be fine now.

  • Great, it all works now

    I should be able to finish up all the item objects without any problems now, thanks

  • keep up the good work!

  • Okay, it's been a long time since the last update but here it is. I've been working on the animations for items and other things. Since the last .cap I've made a police station and all the items that go in it. I've added more detail to the world, and added stuff such as tables, chairs, beds and trees. Almost all of the item sprites are done, only two are left. I've started work on a hospital, and the items that go in it.

    I have one major problem that I want to fix now:

    <img src="http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/3668/treeshadowsch0.jpg">

    As you can see in the picture, the shadows for the trees are coming from their bounding boxes, not the sprite. Is there any way I can fix this without creating more objects than I already have?

    Also, my main source of musical talent (my brother) has declined to make music for my game, so if anyone has any talent with composing music for games post here and I'll PM you the details.

    That's it Any help would be appreciated.

  • The shadow caster behaviour only works for bounding box of the sprite, doesn't take the shape into account. Only thing I can think of is to stick another larger sprite over the shadow casting object that would cover the gaps?

  • Or use a smaller invisible object as the shadow caster, and place it as closely over the image as you can.

  • Yeah that's what I had in mind, I guess I'll just have to do that then.
