I am trying to get a sound(.mp3) file to play with the Xaudio but it is not working. we tried to add it to the resources bar but still no luck. we also tried a wav file and no dice. is there something we are missing on how to play the file?
Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.
Are you on Vista? If so, the first resource listed won't play, you'd have to add the ones you want to play after that.
That would explain it...
[EDIT: didn't see linkmans post...]
Seems to be a bug.
I tried . wav files which do work, BUT you need to have 2 in the binary resources (first will not work others will) I would make the first a .wav with no sound in it. Just something to take up space.
(I'm also on vista )
It's a shame that just like with DirectSound, it is very picky with midis. Almost 90% of the midis I want to use won't work, an I don't want to pay for a program to convert them to .wav (or want the extra file size!)
midnight, download audacity, and set up your microphone so it records off of your sound card
search "stereo mix"
<= (tut)
when your in audacity, press record then play your midi, stop it when its done and then save it as mp3. or OGG or wav
Dude thanks for that tip! Yee hoooo!!!!!!!!
