  • Can we see a new screenie of the UI yet? <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> (or is it just that small screen in the video?)

I plan to reskin the UI before the open beta, or perhaps before 1.0 to make it look less flashy and imposing. but for now it looks like that video with some stuff that wasn't there before. I will try to post an updated video today or tomorrow, and start making good on my promise for regular updates, just wanted to get the basics in there, and clean things up before public display. ^_~

there's alot of new UI stuff not ready for public consumption however, I will give you a little teaser of one of the features that's been added since the video: Onionskinning:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1013446/spriterspam/onionskinning.JPG" border="0" />

you can adjust those red and green triangles on the timeline to decide how far into the future and past you want to see onion skinning if at all

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH IT'S WORKING?!

BRB need to change my jawks... I have drool on them, among other things.

  • Thanks lucid, looks good

  • Every so often I get an itch to make a game and although it never seems to happen, this has got me very excited. The aspect of making games I find most attractive is creating something that looks beautiful - which often means a heavy time investment in terms of artwork. While I have no problem actually creating artwork, I have very little patience for animation and have always found it so daunting that my ideas usually fade away before I even start work on them.

Looks as though Spriter will change all that! It's a great idea and a genuinely useful one, think I might grab the pro version while it's cheap :)

  • Excellent untune,

also, the next build of the closed alpha of the editor will be expanded to include all current spriter pro owners. This build will be released wednesday, so if youve already purchased spriter, or plan to, expect an email sometime around the middle of next week with the download link, and info on where to report bugs and request features and such

  • Cheers lucid, just got the pro version so I'll keep an eye out for that email this week... Keep up the good work! <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • ok, all current spriter pro owners should have your alpha copies in your email by now. if not pm myself or brashmonkey, and we'll get it straightened out. Enjoy! And thank you for helping us test!

  • Yes, yes, bring it on.

  • Good Good Job! <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Someone pm'd me the question, so I thought I'd post here to be clear. Even if you have not yet purchased spriter, if you purchase it before public beta release, you can immediately begin testing the alpha release.

Also, new vids coming very soon! Stay tuned

  • so, as promised, but a few days late, spriter updated vid

all current pro users get to alpha test until beta release. so if you buy today, you get the latest versions until beta release.

in other news, I've quit my dayjob, and I'll be working fulltime for the next half a year or so on mostly spriter, and projects using spriter, so development should be picking up quite a bit.

please ask questions and make suggestions

for current users, just return the workflowy for the link to the latestalpha

aside from bugfixes and some optimizations. the main new addition since last week is the adjustable pivotpoints. press h to change the pivotpoint of an image. this will apply to all instances of this image. you can also do this to multiselections as well, so you can adjust the axis of rotation for a group of selected images as well

  • Sure is progressing nicely. I'm still waiting for the proper new interface, though.

    Oh, and labels! :)

  • AWESOME.

I mean, yeah, that program is cool =D

  • That looks awesome!

I dun understand what are the chrome sliders for, but I want it already!

  • Looks like I'll be able to creating my stick figure game after all lol. Awesome plugin, although, I'm not sure if I'd buy it. Will this be like a replacement for the bone movement?
