Construct 3 any news?

From the Asset Store
Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!

Yup subscription model. I'm not paying $100 a year for features I don't want.

    Oh dear.

$2 a week for the full version? Its not that bad of a deal. You still get a free version.

I'm out, roll on Fusion 3.

Do we have to upgrade to Construct 3? Or we can still use Construct 2 (NW.JS, Cocoon, IntelXDK) ?

I'm not that intrested in moving to cloud either. and subscription fee (even if it is quite low) is not positive for me

One of my favorite things about C2 was the one time fee. Everything is moving subscription based, so it is not too bad...It is a new version so I am OK with this.

What I am not OK with, is the browser based usage. Will C2 still be supported, if so for how long? I won't be using C3 if it is only browser based, I will stick with C2 until the last of days.

Scirra will be hemorrhoaging customers will this business model. Too bad, I really appreciated the generosity of how C2 was handled with all the frequent updates. A subscription model tho is the other end of the spectrum for me. I understand it's a business, we all have to eat. But I don't think this move will work out.

I don't see why I would pay any subscription fee for a game engine that still relies on 3rd part software to export to anything other than html5.

"A Construct 3 Personal subscription will be $99/year. This covers all export platforms."

    Duh!

Everything that I hoped not to find was here. I'm very disappointed. I might buy to try it for the first year but since its browser based - I'm not very happy about that.

You keep your browser based app. I'm leaving.

I hate this, i regret using this in the first place. I am cancelling my game for this sh**.

I'm never going to visit this site ever again. I'm going Unity or GMS2.

It's alright, I had fun reading the bitwig thread last week, I can see the psychology coming a mile away

I love C2 and everything it's given me, it's such an amazing tool for a hobbyist game developer. I think Scirra have been a good example of how to engage with customers too, they've given us a generous tool and a fostered great community here. I feel like they care a lot about their customers, and do their best to make the product better. So I wish them every luck, I'm sure C3 will be amazing, but I can't live with a subscription model personally. I don't think it's wrong or greedy or bad, it's just not for me. I was super excited about the announcement, so it's with great regret that I'll now probably be bowing out of Construct and looking to learn another tool

, I'm out of the loop here, but if you don't like C2, why are you even here in the first place? I'm hoping that was a joke on your part.

C2 benefits from being cheaper than everything else. It works great, I've never ran into any more problems with it than I have with other engines. Especially Unity.

Game Maker and UE4 are both very well made engines. Eiher way, if canceling a game is something to complain about, you either didn't plan out the development of your game at any point, or you're wasting your time developing games altogether. You should be learning how, rather than actually making them, if you don't know the limitations of almost all engines available to you.

I could list hundreds of free game engines' limitations to you right now, and even with the experience of knowing them all, I still come back to C2. So, I personally see no reason for Scirra to change.
