  • Thought i'd put my update here in the new section.

    Get That Ball In

UPDATED BETA 06: No biggie really just another Level and some more cleanup inside the events. Also updated the instructions with some Gameplay TIPS.

UPDATED BETA 05: Added another level, Added ANGLE so now you can see what Angle your aiming at this just adds a bit more visual assistance for repeating shots,

Also altered the Controls a little bit, Left Mouse for Power, but you can release left mouse and it won't fire until Right Mouse is clicked, The REASON for this is some of the levels require TIMING and if you need 250 power and timing it was too hard,

Removed Password System and added a Level Select Screen, Also added an Instructions screen, And a bit of tidying up in the events side.

UPDATED BETA 04: Not much just added power to hold left mouse button down and release to fire as suggested by sqiddster

UPDATED BETA 03: Added New Level with WIND EFFECTS

Also added PASSWORDS for LEVEL SELECT, when you complete a level you'll be given a 6 digit number, just enter them if you return later to go back to last level.

NOTE ON PASSWORDS: The way i've done it is using a VARIABLE and when you put in certain numbers they add up to a total, if that total is a match for a level you goto that level, As i couldn't figure out how to input strings and check them, as i'm still new to this. But hey it works for now.

TODO: More Levels, Better graphics, and a bug to wait for when balls stop moving.

UPDATED BETA 02: Collision changed to Circle thanks to Kyatric for letting me know.

Changed to different server for better working of the game, Audio now Works.

Updated Level 3... Now it's a bit harder.

ToDo: SoundFX need altering abit, Add more Physics Stuff, Like Wind, Magnet, More Levels.

  • That was freaking hard. I only got one in.

  • This game is cool, however one generally ends up resorting to randomness...

On another note, instead of a number, perhaps power can be represented by a bar.

  • Each level has a certain way of getting the ball in and once you have that then you can get most of the balls in, level 1 has 2 ways 1 is power around 240-260 and aim across to the opposite wall a bit like a snooker shot get the angle right and voila, you can also use power around 40-50 and use the rotating platform to flick it in for you, but thats a timing thing.

But it gives me an idea as part of the display i might add what angle your at, 48 deg or 87 deg and so on so you have more of a reference point.

  • Hey I played beta 0.4 and it was the best one so far..Just a few comments from playing 0.5, get rid of the the right click to shoot thing. It's extremely bothering, the left click was working and made the game way more fluid.

Also I am sure you are aware of the sound effects and the static they keep producing. I'm not sure if that's C2 or the actual sounds, but they need cleaning up. The best sound effect you have is the winning noise when you succeed in getting a ball in the whole.

Everything else about this game is entertaining and challenging, which is why I am critiquing it more harshly than I usually would because I actually like this game.

    I don't agree with that.

I prefer the defered throw, helping focusing on the power.

In the previous version I found it pretty hard to trigger the shot at the right timing, with the good power, etc...

There I can spend more time adjusting. Proof is I managed to go up to the 3rd level in beta5.

In beta4 I hardly put 1 ball in in the first stage.

Also I think as a matter of level design, the bumpers should allow for "missed" balls to go in, rather than just being randomly throwned away.

Still in level design, level 3 is really hard (imo) and kind of my burnout point.

When I reach it and don't seem to have it right the first time, I close the game.

Try to "level" the difficulty between your levels a bit (making it progressive).

  • Thanks for the comments guys, maybe in Beta 06 i'll add 2 sets of controls from which you can choose at the menu screen.

I am aware of the sound FX and will be looking at trying to get them right, i'm pressuming the static effect is because i have the sound effect played on collision.

  • Hey guys I just experimented with level 6 and found the best way to get in every ball! (I missed 3 from trying different power etc..)

I'm not aware of hearing this static. I think you could mean when the balls bounce and they make a similar sound, but no static for me O.O

    Google Chrome I'm using.

  • Just as a note about difficulty it's quite hard for me to try to get this at a good curve, I have tried to make it so that all the levels have more than one way to complete the objective,

Level 3 has 4 ways of doing this angle 172 power 240-255 and just time it so the moving plat is just starting to move the other way and the spinner is vertical and EVERYTIME you get the ball in 10/10, But the other way is power around 40-50 and bounce the ball off your ledge into the rotating spinners and it should drop in nicely depending on timing of moving platform, not 100% guarantee though, another way is to have power around 90 and aim at the 2nd spinner as is comes round just before its vertical and it riqochets (dam spelling) nicely in. Or at around 48 power you can if timed correctly just shoot the ball in, in an arc sort of fashion, i call this the beckham shot (hehehe).

You will find that ALL the levels have EASY ways to accomplish the task.

But i'd like to hear what Order you think the levels would be best to go in from easiest to hard.

Just a note on how i design the levels, i put the firing point in and the exit point, and try firing the ball in, then i put obsticles in the way, some help and some hinder, i then test that i can do this and take it from there.
