How to monetize iOS apps in year 2016

  • Good Evening, Scirra.

My CAPX file is about 98% done.

The last 2% being learning to use and implement the Twitter, iAds/Admob and possibly IAP features.

My CAPX file was saved in r227 so I'm assuming iAds is no longer an option since the basic blank layout does not allow the addition of iAds anymore, neither do my own capx files.

That being said, how do I make money off my app if I were to release it in iOS? Does the Admob option work on iOS devices too?

Does Apple pay you just from downloads or do I have to use a monetising plugin?

I know there are a dozen tutorials already posted but I have problem figuring out just which ones are UP-TO-DATE?

I mean, just last week I thought the Ejecta option was still viable, the tutorial was posted 2014, relatively new compared to the Cordova one which pre-dates it yet Cordova is the recommended option right now.

  • Bump.

    I found this:

as a possible reason for why the iAds plugin is gone.

Please don't bump your own post after less than an hour. It is acceptable to bump ypur own thread after 24 hours if no answer has been forthcoming.

Please remember that those users who generally help come from many different time zones.

  • ALL RIGHT!!! It's been more than 24 hours since the last bump!

Let's give this one a bump again and see if anyone knows the answer.

My research so far: "Use Intel XDK build 2866 to build for iOS with Admob."

  • Another 24 hours have passed!

Anyone know the answer yet? >; )

"The latest version of Intel XDK works now. " Latest as of May 29, 16

    ^ Both are untested.

  • Admod works on Apple,

    IAP works on apple

selling the app works on apple

As for what works best for you and your apps in 2016-2017

that is really all up to you.

    I use all 3 myself.

Paid versions of the exact same app

Free version with IAP and Admob

Most of the time I just use IAP to disable ads in the game so they don't have to install the paid version.

    Great! Thanks!

I guess the whole "Admob not working on iOS" problem was with Intel's version in between Jan 2016 and May 2016 all along.

It has to do with your admob plugin your have to find the one for ISO for construct 2 think it was a paid version and free for android. then upload it under 3rd party in intel xdk.

  • If you guys find the plugin just let us know.

    Thanks in advance!
