How do I use touch input so I can use 2 controls at once?

Hi I am having a little trouble with my touch controllers, I have a left and right thumb stick that you use to move character around, they both work perfectly if I only touch one of them, but when I use both my thumbs only 1 thumbstick works and the other thumbstick doesn't work,

In other words I seem to only be able to use 1 touch at a time.

any help would be greatly appreciated,

A capx would be useful to help troubleshoot your problem.

Cant see an option to upload a file anywhere, like you use to be able to do last time I was on forum.
