I'm working on my 2D platformer, and despite using Call of Duty style health system, one of the biggest requests was for some sort of UI, but I am not a huge fan of hearts or green bars, so I want something a bit more special. I did my googling but a lot of the links in the older posts are broken so I'd like to ask again here!

To be honest I don't know how to make it smooth, but you could make the bar frame by frame and then set its frame according to player's health.
