  • Have you tried 'Import sprite strip' for importing sprite sheets? The Animations Bar is the one floating at the bottom of the animations editor (double click a sprite to open the animations editor). Right click in that bar to find the option.

    FORGET THIS PART: Yes I did but the problem is that my sprites are in the form of sheets (all animations frame are on the SAME image...) So that is why I'd have to have something to split them up before importing them inside the animation editor.

    Also: I can't seem to find a way of switching animations when my character moves, like when I press UP I want the animation where we see my character from the back starts. I found in the FAQ a thread that explains it a bit, but there's still pieces missing hehe.

    Let me update you, since this thread, I built an almost complete game in three evenings straight. People here taught me everything I had to know to build what I wanted and this isn't something I've seen done in the past with C2 so it wasn't always straight simple hehe :-)

    C2 is so freaking powerful, it's almost like programming but, without the complex physics and engine code. At first I was impressed by the demo's events, because it was a long list and it seemed complicated at the time. Now I've created multiple events sheet for combat, player movement, etc. The comments possibilities are also very useful to keep it clear and simple.

    I've bought my license yesterday, unfortunately my paypal is being slow as hell, and I can't wait to have it.

    It's been almost a week since I first used C2 and I tried some other engine before using C2, let me tell you as the other said to me: this is the way ever of creating original games, and the best part of it is : you can create whatever you want!

  • tomshreds just to let you know if you paid with e-cheque or transfer it can take up to a week to process, there's nothing we can really do to speed it up I'm afraid!

  • With CC2 you can't make a executable yet. But you can run the game offline. So i don't see a problem. If you want to make executable files you can down load the free version of CC Classic. Its not supported any more but its realy great.

    Yoyo games made Game Maker HTML5. With that tool you can generate HTML games and Executables. This application is much more expensive en lack stability at the moment. So stay on using CC2.

    What's one of the oldest and standard way of controlling a game? Game controllers. You want to use game controllers? I'd use a simple way : make a simple executable container catching game controller's inputs and sending it to the inner-browser as keystrokes.

    That is only idea #1, and I've got plenty of them so far hehe, like publishing. Publish on Steam, on download websites, etc.

    And don't worry, I'll stay on C2 ;-)

    I'm almost done with the main functionality of my game, I already have done one complete level.

    All I have to do now, is wait for my license to make more levels and fix some little bugs, and you'll see what I did hehe :D

  • Yeah, this is a great thread; lots of good, well written responses to many of the questions a new Constructer might want to know. A potential sticky perhaps...?
