• Hi All!

I'm pretty amped - I've just submitted my first Ludum Dare compo game (indie game contest), and I'm proud to have done it all with Construct 2. I think I built the first prototype in an hour - that's how awesome C2 is! :) Please support me and any other fellow C2 entrants in the official Ludum Dare site and Kongregate who are hosting their own version of the compo.

[EDIT 28/8/12: Here are all of our entries below:]

    Bit-Craft Evolution - Eyehawk

    Germa - KBD Master

An Amoeba's Awesome Adventure - zakchaos

    Game -Age - Lacutis

If you're another C2 entrant, reply and I'm sure this fantastic community will back us up. I'll also keep an eye out often and copy your link into the main body of this post so everyone can click on them.

  • I hope :)

  • Hey KBD, remember to put your link up here to your entry when it's ready. Hopefully one of us C2 devs will kick butt! Good luck all!

  • I didn't enter, but best wishes to all the members who did!

Can't imagine the surge of members that would follow a C2 game winning Ludum Dare.

  • I love it Eye, really enjoyed the game (started to hurt my wrist hitting fire in the end). Loved yours too KBD, reminded me of Osmosis. Good luck!

  • Here's a link to mine if ya wanna throw it in ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-24 ,

  • I'm having trouble posting replies to threads, I was trying to post my Ludum Dare info but I keep getting a 500 internal server error.

  • I picked up Contruct 2 about a week ago and I have to say it's really great for quick prototyping of 2d games. I used it this weekend for my Ludum Dare entry, Game-Age : ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-24

In my entry I recreated 4 classic arcade games: Pong, Breakout, Space Invaders and Galaxian. I evolved each one into the next and finally using elements from each of the 4 games created a 5th unique game.

As per the competition rules I have included a link to my source on my entry page so if anyone wants to see how I recreated each game they can feel free to download it and check it out.

    Thanks!

  • Wow that sounds awesome! Strangely enough my first plan for a game was to evolve from pong to breakout to space invaders to asteroid but I scrapped it and went another direction, that's awesome, looking forward to checking it out after work

  • Hey Guyz, wow you've made some wicked games! I know it's a bit biased, but I gave you all top marks in all categories - hehe! :) I've also copied all of your links above so people will be able to click through them and vote a bit more easily. Good luck all and awesome effort - we'll show the world how awesome C2 really is

  • ZakChaos that game evolution idea sounds awesome! You should consider making it anyway for the Scirra arcade - I'd play it!

  • Thanks for the feedback, I wanted to try doing something different for the Evolution theme than I thought everyone else would try. I think it turned out well.

  • Try Construct 3

  • wrroper - yeah it's been a fun experience overall, I think I'll definitely give it a go again. Oh hey I think Zak was asking about Bunkers for the space invaders part. You can do that really easily by just making the bunker out of little 5X5 px blocks, which get destroyed normally by bullets.

  • LD24 is over, and the results are out!

Well done to our very own Yann for making #35 in the overall category - congrats!

I'm pretty sure BuffaloPhil is a C2 user, he came #36 in the mood category and high overall.

I tanked in most areas but made #14 in the fun category.

I think that was all the C2 users I could spot (please correct me) - so a great showing from our community for what C2 can really do! :)

So well done everybody! It was a fantastic first go for me, I definitely plan to do an many more as I can. I really encourage everyone who hasn't had a go to try it!
